Capt Ken's is no longer in business

Ken has resigned from Capt Ken's @ Bridge Harbor

In the summer of 2020, during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic, Ken and Sam approached the Baugh's about a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Bridge Harbor Yacht Club and Marina had been recently purchased and the new owner wanted to rent the restaurant to Ken. This was a dream come true for Ken and the Baugh's were honored to be asked to be partners in this endeavor.

The agreement was that the Baugh's would be silent partners and be the money backers. The Baugh's spent much of their life savings on repairing the restaurant, patio, pool, elevator, purchasing equipment, insurance, liquor licenses, liquor bonds, and so on. The Greens provided contacts for fresh seafood, food vendors, cooks, and recipes to get the restaurant up and running. The other restaurant tasks like repairs, bookkeeping, POS systems, etc. fell onto the Baugh's to handle.

When the paperwork was drawn up the restaurant was called Captains Table Restaurant, LLC dba Capt Ken's @ Bridge Harbor. Since Ken's departure, the dba name has since been dropped at the request of Ken, Ken wanted no affiliation with the restaurant that HE asked the Baughs to open and fund.

Things appeared great the first weekend the restaurant opened, It was quickly determined that the food was underpriced and theft with cash orders was rampant with the waitresses and staff. A POS system was immediately setup to help deter the thefts. The Baughs also purchased additional kitchen equipment to help speed up the food prep times.

During the winter, the elevator broke down and Mr. Baugh spent weeks and umpteenth hours diagnosing and working with elevator technicians to get the elevator operational. All repairs to get things up to code and operational were handled by the Baughs. The restaurant was shutdown for approximately 3 months while the elevator was being repaired. The restaurant reopened in March 2021.

The Baughs paid for everything out of their pockets. Ken received several draws and Sam made over $20k in tips and salary while waitressing. The Baughs did not take any draws or salary. Even though the partnership was supposed to be equal parts, the work put forth by both sets of partners was no where close to even. The Baughs each spent 50-80 hours per week on accounting and operational tasks while running their other business full-time.

When things were up and running again in March, the restaurant tried their best to reach out to the public to let them know that the restaurant was back open. However the bills kept piling up and the pandemic kept folks away. In April, Ken told the Baugh's that he and Sam were leaving the partnership effective May 15. He was working out a deal with Dorados to work in their kitchen. Unfortunately, the Dorado's partners decided not to bring Ken onto their staff so he no longer had any definite plans in his future.

In May 2021, Ken posted in Facebook that he was leaving Capt Ken's @ Bridge Harbor and gave the indication that the restaurant was shutting down. The restaurant did NOT close down and kept operating under the original name of Captains Table Restaurant. Ken was paid a lump sum when he resigned as well as several handsome draws during his tenure at the restaurant. Ken wished the Baugh's his best and the Baugh's wished him well.

Since Ken's departure, the rumors and haters have been spreading false information about the entire situation. No one forced anyone to leave. Bottomline is that the restaurant was opened during a pandemic and was not eligible to receive any financial assistance. There was zero profit during the short time the restaurant was open so the Green's left looking for greener pastures.  The Baugh's are still running Captains Table Restaurant & Bar.
